Major Users of Ads:

In the Internet Marketplace,there are are four major users of Ads:

1.Advertisers
2.Publishers
3.Viewers and
4.Agents


Let's analyze all these categories.
1.Advertisers:
These are people who would like to sell their products or services by placing advertisements online in web pages.Advertisers spend money in the context of Internet Marketing.

2.Publishers:
These are people who provide space in their web pages to help the advertisers place their ads.Publishers earn money in the context of Internet Marketing.
Hence our focus will be on how to become a successful publisher since our objective is to earn money through the internet.


3.Viewers:
These are ordinary people like you and me who browse the ads with a stifled yawn.Or so we think.But in reality these are the people who can make or break us. It is important for us to enter the minds of these people and understand what they want.A successful publisher is one who provides,legally,what the viewers want very badly.
Hence follow this principle:
Forget what you want;provide what the viewer wants.
This brings us to the question of Content Selection which I have explained in my FREE E BOOK 3- Content Selection.

What viewers look for also depends on so many factors like age,sex,nationality,education etc.Before selecting the content ask yourself the following questions:
1.What is my expertise?Surely you will have some area of expertise which you can share with others.
2.Will it benefit the people who are likely to show interest?
3.Am I capable of sustaining it?.There is no point in starting something which you cannot update regularly.Unless you are Abraham Lincoln, people tend to lose interest in what you have to say rather quickly.
4.Is it technologically obsolete?You may not want to talk about electronic typewriters even if it is your area of expertise or passion!
5.Will advertisers be willing to place their ads on my site?After all we earn money as a publisher only though these ads placed on our web sites.
6.How do advertisers locate me or vice versa?
This brings us to the topic of the fourth player in the Internet Marketing arena.

4.Agents:
These are people who bring the advertisers and the publishers into contact with each other. How do they do it?.By the use of very well-designed and developed portals.

There are several established players in the market some of which are as follows:

ClixGalore
Linkshare

These agents follow the process of registering advertisers and publishers.Once an advertiser is registered in a particular category, his products and services are entered in the database.Similarly, once a publisher(you) registers with the agent, he has to apply to a particular advertiser for becoming his publisher also popularly known as an AFFILIATE.
